Remo 16" Powerstroke 3 Clear

Remo 16" Powerstroke 3 Clear

The Remo 16" Powerstroke 3 Clear Drum Head is a heavyweight favourite among drummers who want deep punch, controlled sustain, and a clean, focused floor tom sound without losing the natural body and resonance of the drum. Known for its versatility and effortless tuning, the Powerstroke 3 Clear has become a staple on kits covering everything from rock and metal to pop, funk, indie, and live session work.

Built from a single ply of clear film with Remo’s integrated underlay dampening ring, this head delivers a beautifully balanced response that reins in excessive overtones while still allowing the drum to breathe naturally. On a 16" floor tom especially, the result is a huge, warm tone with strong attack and a satisfyingly controlled low-end rumble that feels powerful without becoming muddy.

The clear finish gives the drum extra articulation and brightness compared to coated alternatives, helping stick attack remain defined even at lower tunings. Tuned down, the Powerstroke 3 produces massive, thunderous floor tom punch perfect for rock and modern styles. Tighten it slightly and you’ll get a focused, articulate response that still retains plenty of depth and character.

One of the reasons drummers continue coming back to the Powerstroke 3 series is how easy these heads are to work with. They tune quickly, respond consistently, and deliver a polished, studio-friendly sound with very little extra muffling required.

At Musicmaker, this is one of those dependable all-round drum heads we recommend constantly because it simply delivers that finished, professional floor tom sound straight away.
