Remo 16" Powerstroke 4 Coated
Remo 16" Powerstroke 4 Coated
The Remo 16" Powerstroke 4 Coated Drum Head is built for drummers who want massive floor tom punch, controlled sustain, and rock-solid durability without sacrificing warmth or musical feel. Designed as a heavier, more focused evolution of the classic Powerstroke concept, the Powerstroke 4 has become a favourite among players chasing deep, modern tom tones with minimal overtone fuss.
Constructed from two plies of coated film with Remo’s integrated dampening system, the Powerstroke 4 delivers a thick, powerful response with shorter sustain and excellent attack definition. On a 16" floor tom, this head absolutely shines—producing deep, thunderous lows with a focused, controlled decay that keeps the drum sounding huge without becoming boomy or uncontrolled.
The coated finish adds warmth and smoothness to the overall response while improving stick articulation and feel. Whether tuned low for massive rock and metal floor tom sounds or slightly tighter for punchy live articulation, the Powerstroke 4 maintains impressive clarity and consistency across a wide tuning range.
One of the standout qualities of this head is how naturally it delivers that polished “mix-ready” floor tom sound. The built-in overtone control helps eliminate excessive ring without choking the drum, meaning less time fighting unwanted resonance and more time actually playing.
At Musicmaker, the Powerstroke 4 Coated is a superb recommendation for heavier hitters and drummers who want a focused, powerful floor tom voice with excellent durability for regular rehearsals, touring, and studio work.
