Remo 20" SMT Ambassador Coated Bass Drum Head
Remo 20" SMT Ambassador Coated Bass Drum Head
The Remo 20" Ambassador SMT Coated Bass Drumhead is built for players who crave warmth, punch, and precision from their kick, all without stuffing old towels inside the shell. With its built-in Sub Muffl® Technology, this head is engineered to deliver focused low-end thump with none of the unwanted boom—ideal for everything from tight, jazzy grooves to fat rock breakdowns.
It’s crafted from a single ply of 10-mil coated film, offering that classic Remo warmth and a smooth attack that feels buttery under the beater. The coating also adds a subtle texture that softens the highs just enough to keep things rich and musical. Whether you’re tapping out gentle passages or slamming through a chorus, this head gives you the kind of responsive dynamic range that lets your playing do the talking.
That clever Sub Muffl® system? It’s not just a gimmick—it’s an integrated dampening profile that includes a floating foam ring, giving you full-bodied tone and punch while still keeping the sound clean and defined. No tape, no fiddly gels—just fit it, tune it, and go.
At Musicmaker, we’ve seen drummers get serious mileage out of these heads—whether they’re on tour, in the studio, or just holding down the pocket at their local open mic night. This 20" version in particular is a sweet spot for those running smaller or jazz-oriented kits who still want that mix-ready clarity.
