Remo 22" Powerstroke 4 Coated Bass

Remo 22" Powerstroke 4 Coated Bass

The Remo 22" Powerstroke 4 Coated Bass Drum Head is built for drummers who want a kick drum sound that feels huge, tight, and controlled straight out of the box. Designed with heavier-hitting modern players in mind, the Powerstroke 4 Coated delivers deep low-end punch, short focused sustain, and excellent durability, making it a superb choice for rock, metal, punk, gospel, and high-energy live performance setups.

Constructed from two plies of coated film with Remo’s integrated dampening system, this bass drum head produces a thick, authoritative tone with plenty of attack and low-end weight while naturally controlling excessive overtones. Compared to more open bass drum heads, the Powerstroke 4 has a tighter, more focused response that sits beautifully in live mixes and recordings without needing loads of extra muffling.

The coated finish adds warmth and depth to the overall sound, softening the attack slightly compared to clear alternatives while still retaining excellent beater definition and projection. Tuned low, the 22" Powerstroke 4 delivers a massive, chesty thump with modern punch and controlled decay. At medium tensions, it becomes articulate, punchy, and highly mix-friendly for versatile live and studio applications.

One of the standout strengths of this head is how quickly it delivers a polished kick drum sound. The built-in overtone control helps eliminate unwanted boominess while preserving enough resonance to keep the drum sounding powerful and musical under the pedal.

At Musicmaker, the Powerstroke 4 Coated Bass is a favourite for drummers wanting a more focused and aggressive bass drum response with minimal setup fuss and maximum stage-ready impact.
