Taylor Beacon Clip-On Digital 5-Way Tuner, Black
Beacon Digital 5-Way Tuner | Taylor | Musicmaker Dublin
Taylor has clearly been thinking about all those little bits and pieces that end up rattling around in a guitarist's gig bag. The Taylor Beacon Clip-On Digital 5-Way Tuner is a clever little multi-tool that combines five genuinely useful accessories in one compact headstock-mounted device. It's a tuner, metronome, timer, countdown clock and even a torch. Yes, a torch! Someone at Taylor has definitely spent time fumbling around a dark stage looking for a missing plectrum.
First and foremost, the Beacon is a seriously handy digital tuner. Its bright colour display makes pitch adjustments easy to see, even under awkward stage lighting, while five dedicated tuning modes cover guitar, bass, violin, ukulele and chromatic tuning. The clip-on design detects vibrations directly through your instrument, so you can tune up without plugging anything in or competing with the noise of the rest of the band.
The built-in metronome is a lovely addition for tightening up your timing, with adjustable tempos and time signatures to keep those tricky passages in check. There's also a timer and countdown function for keeping practice sessions organised or making sure your set doesn't run into the next band's slot. And that little LED torch on the back? Surprisingly useful for reading a setlist, checking cables or locating the pick that just launched itself into another postcode.
Best of all, the Beacon is USB-C rechargeable, so there's no messing about with replacement batteries. Its compact design, straightforward controls and smart black finish make it a brilliant everyday companion for rehearsals, gigs and home practice. A proper Swiss Army knife for musicians, minus the corkscrew.
