Stagg 15" SH Medium Hi Hats

If you like your hi-hats with a little more meat, warmth and presence, stepping up to 15" can be a beautiful thing. The Stagg 15" SH Medium Hi-Hats deliver a broader, fuller sound than the more traditional 14" format, while retaining enough crisp definition to keep grooves tight and articulate.

Made from B20 bronze – 80% copper and 20% tin – these hats sit in Stagg's SH Series, offering proper bronze construction at a price that makes them a very tempting upgrade from basic starter cymbals. The cymbals are hand-hammered and traditionally lathed, giving them a warmer, more complex character than you'd expect from straightforward entry-level hats.

The 15" diameter is where things get particularly tasty. That extra inch brings more depth, body and projection, giving open hi-hat sounds a lovely broad wash. Close them down and you still get a defined, satisfying "chick", while stick patterns remain clear enough to drive the groove without disappearing underneath guitars and bass.

With their Medium top and Medium bottom, these aren't ultra-thin, whispery jazz hats or brutally heavy metal plates. Instead, they're nicely balanced all-rounders that can move comfortably through rock, funk, pop, indie, blues and jazz, making them especially useful for drummers who don't want to own six different pairs of hi-hats. Yet.
