PureSound Blaster Series Snare Wire, 20 Strand, 13"

Blaster Snare Wire, 20 Strand, 13" | PureSound | Musicmaker Dublin

A snare drum should have a bit of attitude. That sharp crack, the lively rattle underneath and the satisfying snap that makes a backbeat feel like it means business. The PureSound Blaster Series 20-Strand Snare Wire for 13-inch snare drums is designed to bring exactly that kind of energy to your playing, with a responsive, powerful character that's particularly well suited to drummers who like to dig in.

The Blaster series takes PureSound's precision-made snare wire design and gives it a more assertive personality. Its 20 strands of steel wire provide plenty of contact with the resonant head, helping produce a full, crisp snare response with strong articulation. From tight rimshots to busy fills, the Blaster is built to deliver the kind of snare presence that holds its own when the rest of the band starts making a racket.

One of the clever details is the specially designed end plates, which help the wires sit consistently against the bottom head. Combined with the series' heavy-duty construction, this makes the Blaster particularly appealing to hard-hitting players who need dependable response and plenty of projection. It's not just about making the drum louder; it's about keeping that snare sound defined and lively when the playing gets energetic.

The 20-strand configuration strikes a useful balance between sensitivity and body. There's enough wire coverage to give backbeats a satisfying sizzle, while still allowing the drum's natural tone to come through. On a 13-inch snare, that can be a particularly tasty combination, bringing extra fullness to a drum that already has a naturally quick, punchy voice.

If your current snare wires are tired, stretched or simply not giving you the response you're after, a fresh set can make a remarkable difference. The PureSound Blaster 13" 20-Strand is a straightforward upgrade for rock, punk, pop and other styles where the snare needs to speak clearly and confidently. A small bit of hardware underneath the drum, doing a surprisingly big job.
