Vater GW5AW Goodwood 5A Hickory - Wood Tip
Sometimes, you just need a solid, no-nonsense stick that gets the job done—and that’s exactly what the Vater Goodwood 5A delivers. Built from the same high-quality American hickory as their premium line, these sticks might carry the odd visual blemish, but when it comes to feel, balance, and sound—they punch well above their weight.
They’re based on Vater’s classic 5A profile, which means you’re getting a stick that’s brilliantly versatile. With a 0.565" diameter, they sit comfortably in the hand and feel familiar from the first downbeat. The 16" length gives you that ideal reach across your kit, and a medium taper offers just the right mix of rebound and control. Whether you're laying down delicate dynamics or digging in with more aggression, these sticks keep pace.
The oval wood tip adds that smooth, warm articulation on cymbals and a round, defined tone on drums. Great for practice, rehearsals, or players who power through sticks on the regular, the Goodwood range lets you stock up without sacrificing quality.
And here at Musicmaker, we’ve seen more than a few pros keep these in their bag as backup—or even as their main go-to. Affordable, dependable, and totally gig-worthy.
